'''Nikos Foskolos''' was a [[Greeks|Greek]] mystery writer, screenplay writer and director.

Foskolos was born on [[November 26]], [[1927]] in [[Athens]]. He studied political science at the [[University of Athens]] but did not get a degree.

Foskolos started writing for newspapers "Empros" and "Independent Press" in the [[1950s]] mostly as a film critic. Later, he developed as a mystery writer. His radio series "Detective stories of Nikos Foskolos" proved very popular at a time when TV was just beginning to appear in Greek life.

In the [[1960s]], Foskolos turned to writing theatre plays. Later, in that same decade, he turned to the Greek cinema with great success as he wrote the plot for over 70 films.

By [[1971]], Foskolos was also writing for Greek TV. His first series "The Unknown War" drew a record-breaking 92% of the audience.

In [[1991]], when private TV came to [[Greece]], Foskolos wrote for the series "Lampsis" and "Good Morning, Life", both of which lasted for over 3,000 episodes.

Foskolos was honoured by the President of Greece in [[2007]]. He was also honoured by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece for his TV series "By this thou shall conquer".

He died on [[October 30]], [[2013]].
