Panagiotou was born on [[December 16]], [[1970]]. He started his career at [[Anorthosis Famagusta FC|Anorthosis]] [[Famagusta]] where he stayed for the next seventeen years. In [[2004]], he moved to [[AEK Larnaca FC|AEK]] [[Larnaca]] and the following year to [[Panachaiki FC|Panachaiki]] [[Patra]]. He ended his career at [[Agia Napa FC|Ayia Napa]] in [[2007]]. He is currently in charge of [[Anorthosis Famagusta FC|Anorthosis]]' youth academies.

During his career, Panagiotou was capped 74 times by the [[Cyprus National Football Team]].
