Bratsiotis was born in [[Thebes]] in [[1889]], the son of a [[priest]]. He studied theology at the [[University of Athens]] with graduate studies in Leipzig and Jena, Germany.

He taught theology at the [[University of Athens]] from [[1924]] until [[1960]].

Bratsiotis was elected to the [[Academy of Athens]] in [[1955]] and served as its president in [[1960]].

He died in [[Athens]] in [[1982]].
