He stands 2.02m (6'8") tall and plays as a small forward but can also play as a center or power forward. He was brought to [[Olympiakos BC]] in [[2005]], from [[PAOK BC|PAOK]] [[Thessaloniki]], by George Garbolas who believed in him that he could help the team to win titles.

Vasilopoulos was a member of the Greek [[National Basketball Team]] that won [[Eurobasket 2005]] and finished second in the 2006 FIBA World Championship.
