Sotirios Sotiropoulos was a [[Greeks|Greek]] politician of the [[19th Century]] who briefly served as [[Prime Minister of Greece]].

Sotiropoulos was born in [[1831]] in [[Nafplio]]. He studied Law and, after the overthrow of [[King Otto]], was elected to the National Assembly of [[1863]]. The following year he was appointed Minister of Finance. He was reappointed to the same post in [[1865]], [[1870]], [[1876]], [[1877]] and [[1880]]. In [[1893]] he formed a government that was brought down months later on a no-confidence vote.

Sotiropoulos wrote a book "31 days of captivity" after being abducted at [[Filiatra]], [[Messenia]] by the bandit gang of Lafazanis.

He died in [[Athens]] in [[1898]].
