Versis was born in [[Athens]] in [[1879]]. He competed for a Greece in the [[1896 Summer Olympics]], held in [[Athens]], in the [[discus throw]] where he won third place with a throw of 28.78m. He also won third place in weightlifting.

Versis broke the Greek record in the [[shot put]] on [[May 13]], [[1900]] with 11.49m. He broke the Greek record in the [[discus throw]] on [[May 21]], [[1896]] with 29.50m.

He died in [[1918]] of Asian flu.
