He studied Law in France where he obtained his doctorate. Upon return to [[Smyrna]], Seferiadis started writing, winning the &quot;Panionian Award&quot; in [[1902]] for a collection of poetry. In [[1907]], he translated [[Oedipus Rex]] into [[demotic]] [[Greek language|Greek]] causing a major stir amongst the educated people of [[Smyrna]].<br /> <br /> In [[1913]] Seferiadis settled in [[Athens]]. Between [[1919]] and [[1938]], he taught Law at the [[University of Athens]]. In [[1933]], he was elected to the [[Academy of Athens]].<br /> <br /> Seferiadis also served as legal adviser to the Ministry of the Exterior, under PM [[Eleftherios Venizelos]], as a member of the International Court of the Hague, as a member on the selection committee of Law professors for the [[University of Thessaloniki]], etc.<br /> <br /> He died in Paris, France, after a stroke, on [[August 6]], [[1951]].
