Angelis was born in [[Aegaleo]] in [[1946]]. He started his career at local club Ierapolis as a forward.

Angelis was a member of the all-amateur Greek squad that competed in the qualifiers of the [[1968]] Olympics. He moved on to [[Olympiakos FC|Olympiakos]], along with team mates [[Giorgos Stoligas]] and [[Vasilis Siokos]] in [[1967]]. There, he was converted into a defender. His playing career at [[Olympiakos FC|Olympiakos]] lasted until [[1977]].

Angelis was capped 11 times by the senior [[National Football Team]] of [[Greece]].
