+Theofilogiannakos was born in [[Laconia prefecture]]. He attended Military School graduating as a second lieutenant in the Greek infantry. He took part in the coup d'etat of [[April 21]], [[1967]] and was rewarded with a promotion as deputy commander of EAT-ESA. In [[1970]], he became its commander.
