The National Popular Liberation Army (Ethnikos Laikos Apeleftherotikos Stratos (ELAS) - Greek Εθνικός Λαϊκός Απελευθερωτικός Στρατός (ΕΛΑΣ)) was the military arm of the communist National Liberation Front (Ethniko Apeleftherotiko Metopo (EAM) (Εθνικό Απελευθερωτικό Μέτωπο (ΕΑΜ) ) during the period of the Greek Resistance and the Greek Civil War (1941 - 1949).
