Vasilis Lymperis
Vasilis Lymperis (alt. spellings: Lyberis or Liveris) has gone down in history as the last person executed in Greece, on August 25, 1972. He was sentenced to death on May 7 of the same year for the murder his wife, his mother-in-law and two kids. According to the prosecution he set ablaze his house at Metamorphosis Chalandri. He doused the premises with gasoline and torched the place in the middle of the night, while his family members were asleep.

He also claimed that he did not know that his kids were in the house that fatefull night. While addressing the court he allegedly said: If you don't believe me, execute me this very momement!
