- February 3: The Turkish government announces its intention to continue the banishment of members of the Greek community in Istanbul.
- February 7: Several high-ranking police officers are indicted in the Grigoris Lambrakis assassination trial.
- February 11: The trial of Aristides Pangratidis, alleged "ogre of Seikh Sou", begins.
- February 22: Aristides Pangratidis is convicted as the serial killer "the ogre of Seikh Sou" and sentenced to death.

- March 18: Archbishop Makarios III asks the Greek government to replace Gen. Georgios Grivas as head of the Greek forces in Cyprus.
- March 30: AEK become the first Greek club to play in the semi-finals of the European Champions' Cup of basketball. They lose to Slavia Prague 103-73.

- December 29: Emmanouil Emmanouilidis and Spyros Kotzamanis are found guilty of "grievous bodily injuries" in the Grigorios Lambrakis trial in Thessaloniki. All the other accused are unanimously acquitted.
