The Agrarian Bank of Greece (Greek Αγροτική Τράπεζα Ελλάδος, abbreviated ATE) was founded on June 27, 1929 as a non-profit organisation whose aim was to assist Greek farmers with low-interest loans and contribute to the overall development of rural Greece.
The Agrarian Bank began operations on January 4, 1930. By 1990, the bank ventured outside its exclusive rural market into competition with urban banks. In 1991, ATE became incorporated and, in 2000, started selling stock on the Athens Stock Exchange.
The current Governor of the Agrarian Bank is Dimitris Miliakos.
