Alexandros Lykourezos

Alexandros Lykourezos is a Greek lawyer and one-time President of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO).

Lykourezos was born on February 4, 1934. He studied law at the University of Athens and, upon graduation, furthered his studies in Heidelberg, Germany, after he was granted a scholarship by the Adenauer Institute.

Lykourezos has made a name for himself by handling high-profile legal cases including the defence of Athens dailies "Eleftheria" and "Acropolis", George Koskotas, Georgios Rallis and many others.

On September 9, 1974, he was the first to start legal proceedings against those who staged the coup of April 21, 1967. In 1999, he lodged a complaint, at the International Court of the Hague, against NATO for its indiscriminate bombardment of Belgrade.

Lykourezos served as a Member of Parliament from 2000 until 2004, choosing on his own to return to law practice rather than seeking another term in Parliament.

He was married to former actress Zoe Laskari from June 1976 until August 18, 2017 when his wife died in Porto Rafti from undisclosed causes. The couple have a daughter, Maria-Eleni.
