Babis Bakalis was a Greek laika composer.

Bakalis was born in Kanalia, Karditsa prefecture, western Macedonia, in 1920. He took up music at an early age and moved to Athens in 1944. Over the next few years and especially the decades of the 1950s and 1960s, Bakalis wrote the music to many laika songs which were made hits by such noted singers as Grigoris Bithikotsis, Petros Anagnostakis and Stratos Dionysiou. Of special note was his partnership with lyricist Kostas Virvos.

Bakalis was greatly influenced by Indian music, producing some of the best known "Indogyftika" songs. He died on March 26, 2007.
