Flessas Elias Dimitrios, was born in 1796. It is reported that he served as soldier in the body of John Nik. Flesias (ECHO of MESSINIA: 12-5-1966). He took part in the battles of Karytaina, Valtetsi, the capture of Trjpolitsa, where also he was wooded, Dervenakia, where he particularly distinguished, Nauplium, in an expeditions to Eastern Greece, in the siege of Patras and other. Via his actions, Papaflessas proposed to the War ministry to be promoted to the rank of “Taxiarhis. In the 15th of April 1823 the Executive branch of War promotes him and asks the approval of Parliament (HM Pal. ' Athens 1857 p. of 315). On the 18th of April 1823, Parliament approves his promotion to "the degree of “Brigadier". (GNP ' Athens 1857 oel. 141). At 15th June 1823, as Brigadier, he was ordered to take his soldiers and to impose order in various regions. Later he was promoted to the rang of “Xiliarchos” The relative documents of his promotion we did not find, but on the 24th of June 1823. the Minister of Interior (Protocol # 1072) notifies the Parliament that Nikitas and Demetrios Flessias were dispatched to the county of Pyrgos to calm down the internal fights.
