Ioannis Polemis was a Greek poet, part of the 1880s revivalist movement in Greek poetry.

He was born in 1862 in Athens, though his family hailed from the island of Andros in the Cyclades. He died in 1925.

Polemis' poetry is written in straightforward, simple language and has long been included in Greek primary school textbooks. They are of a romantic and / or patriotic nature.

Probably his greatest prose work is the drama "King Sun-less" which was brought to the stage and starred no less an actress than Marika Kotopouli.
