- 1939: Ioannis Palamiotis breaks the Greek record for the triple jump with 14.87m.
- 1973: Spyros Kontosoros breaks the Greek record in the 3000m steeplechase with 8:25.6.
- 1976: Apostolos Kathiniotis breaks the Greek record in the triple jump with 16.61m.
- 2004 - The Greek National Football Team advances to the Euro 2004 final game after beating the Czech Republic 1-0 (silver goal in extra time by Traianos Dellas).
- 2009: Two members of Greece's weightlifting team at the Mediterranean Games in Italy test positive for doping, according to the head of the Greek Weightlifting Federation (EOAB): Nikos Kourtidis, who won two gold medals in the men's 94-kg category, and Konstantina Lapou, who took silver in the women's 58-kg.
- 2012: Kostas Douvalidis breaks the Greek record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.37.
