- 1913: The Second Balkan War breaks out as Bulgaria attacks Serbia and Greece - her allies in the First Balkan War.
- 1945: Aris Velouchiotis blows himself up with a hand grenade to avoid arrest. The former EAM leader had been denounced by the Greek Communist Party and was wanted by both royalists and communists.
- 1955: Stylianos Lenas and Markos Drakos unsuccessfully attempt to assassinate Cyprus governor Robert Armitage.
- 1963: King Paul of Greece appoints Panagiotis Pipinelis as Prime Minster following Constantine Karamanlis' resignation

- 1996: The Greek Athletics Championships celebrated 100 years at OAKA Stadium. Five new records were set: Niki Bakogianni (1.97m in high jump), Olga Vasdeki (14.48m in triple jump), Alexandros Papadimitriou (77.84m in hammer), Stelios Bisbas (13.61 in 110m hurdles) and Katerina Koffa (22.66 in 200m)
- 2004: Greece tied with Spain 1-1 (Angelos Charisteas) in their second game for Euro 2004.
