- 1915: Eleftherios Venizelos' Liberal Party wins 185 parliamentary seats (out of 316) in the national elections.
- 1924: Nikolaos Plastiras and Stylianos Gonatas are promoted to the rank of Lt. General for their role in bringing down the Laiko Komma government after the Asia Minor Disaster
- 1957: Former ELAS commander Stefanos Sarafis is killed by a car driven by a US NCO. EDA calls it premeditated murder.
- 1987: The first private radio station Athena 9,84 FM began broadcasting.

- 1981: PAOK coach Gyula Lorant suffers a heart attack during a football match.
- 1995: Aris Vovos with his co-driver Kostas Stefanis win the 42nd Acropolis Rally with a Lancia Delta HF Integrale. It is the first time in the last 40 years that a Greek crew wins the Acropolis Rally after Johnny Pesmatzoglou in 1955 with an Opel Kapitan
- 1998: Greece U21 rank 2nd after losing to Spain 1-0 in the final of European Football Championship.
