One of the better goalkeepers in Greek soccer, Nikos Christidis (born 1944) played with the teams of Aris and AEK. He was capped 22 times by the Greek National Football Team in his career.

He later went to work as the coach for the Greek Under-21 National Football Team.

On September 15, 2000 he was hired as assistant coach to Vasilis Daniil, coach of the Greek National Football Team.

Nikos Christidis then served as an interim coach for the Greek National Football Team -- one game only. The game was a friendly between Greece - Russia 0-0 (Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, Aug. 15, 2001). Otto Rehhagel succeeded him as the coach for the Greek National Football Team.
