Petros Karavitis is a former Greek football player of the 1970s - 1980s era.

Karavitis was born in 1952. He played for Chaidari FC until 1968 when he was acquired by Olympiakos Piraeus. In 1971, Karavitis broke into Olympiakos' senior squad. In 1981 he transferred to AEK and the following year retired.

During his playing career, Karavitis was capped 10 times by the National Football Team of Greece scoring 3 goals.

Karavitis was a very versatile football, capable of playing in attack, defence or midfield as the need arose. After his playing days were over, Karavitis coached among others the Under-19 Greek side.
