- 1825: Odysseus Androutsos was executed by commander Yiannis Gouras on suspicion of collaborating with the enemy.
- 1907: Kapetan Agras was killed during the Macedonian Struggle.
- 1947: The Marshall Plan was announced to help Greece - as well as Turkey - in the struggle against Communism.
- 1972: Greece established full diplomatic relations with P.R. China.
