Tourkomenis was born in [[Piraeus]] in [[1946]]. He played for [[Ethnikos Piraeus FC|Ethnikos Piraeus]] between the years [[1966]] and [[1975]], accumulating a total of 80 [[Alpha Ethniki]] appearances.
Tourkomenis was the goalkeeper of the National Armed Forces Team of Greece which won the [[CISM]] Cup in [[1968]]. He was capped once by the [[National Football Team|senior squad]] in a 4-1 friendly victory over Egypt on [[November 21]], [[1968]].
He died of a stroke on [[March 22]], [[2010]].
