Thanasis Loukanidis was a Greek football player.

Loukanidis played as a forward or midfielder for Doxa Drama but moved to the defence when he transferred to Olympiakos after the 1962 season.

He played only two seasons in Piraeus and never achieved the success of his brother Takis Loukanidis.

After his playing days were over, Loukanidis coached a number of clubs among them Atromitos Athens, Panthrakikos and PAS Giannina.
