Battle of Pente Pigadia

The Battle of Pente Pigadia was fought in the course of the First Balkan War (October 24 - October 30, 1912, between Greece and Turkey.

Although the main thrust of the Greek military effort in the First Balkan War was in Macedonia with Thessaloniki being the main objective, one division was sent to liberate Epirus. On October 21, 1912, the Greek army entered Preveza and advanced towards Pente Pigadia where they met a Turkish force.

The Greek army was victorious and advanced towards Ioannina. Greek casualties numbered 26 dead and 222 wounded.
