John Ghykas

John Ghyka (Greek: Ιωάννης Γκίκας) was a Greek educator and writer.

Ghykas was born in 1871 in Corfu. He studied Greek Literature and obtained a PhD from the Athens University.

In 1893, he migrated to Egypt to become the chief editor of the Greek Language newspaper "Omonia", and publisher of the Greek Language journal "Kosmos". He was a very active member of the Greek community in Alexandria and around or before 1910 he established a Lyceum carrying his name.

He spent the last 30 years of his life writing and publishing stories.

He died about 1950 in Alexandria, Egypt
