Milan Gurovic

Milan Gurović (born June 17, 1976 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, now Serbia) is a Serbian basketball player, currently playing for Red Star Belgrade. He has dual nationality; Serbian and Greek.

Gurovic started his basketball career in Greece with Peristeri BC where he played from 1993 until 1998. He moved on to play in Spain with Barcelona before returning to Greece in 2000 to play for AEK for a single season. Since then, he has played for Telit Trieste, Malaga, NIS Vojvodina, Partizan Belgrade, Juventud and Red Star.

Gurović is a regular member of the Yugoslavia / Serbia and Montenegro national team. His high moment came in the 2002 World championships when he helped defeat the USA in Indianapolis.

Controversy

He is banned from playing in Croatia due to the patriotic Serbian tattoo on his left arm. The tattoo is of General Draža Mihailović, leader of the Chetniks in WWII.
