Miltiades Iatridis

Miltiades Iatridis was a Greek naval officer, chiefly known for his exploits as commander of the Submarine RHS Papanikolis.

Iatridis was born in Pyrgos, Elis prefecture on November 8, 1906. He distinguished himself in World War II as commander of the Submarine RHS Papanikolis. After the war, he was made commander of several flotillas and was assigned to the Naval Academy.

Iatridis was killed in a car accident in 1960. His statue adorns a square that bears his name in his native Pyrgos.
