In Greek mythology, Sciron, also known as the Foot-Washer, was one of the bandits killed by Theseus on his way to Athens from Troezena.

Sciron lived at the Scironid Cliffs near Megara. He would force travellers to wash his feet and as they knelt before him, he would kick them off the cliff behind them and into the sea where they were eaten by a sea monster (or a giant turtle). Theseus grabbed him by the feet and threw him off the cliff.
