Yiotis Tsalouchidis
Yiotis Tsalouchidis is a former Greek football player of the 1980s - 1990s era.
Tsalouchidis was born on March 30, 1963. He played for Veria FC as an attacker until 1987 when he was acquired by Olympiakos. In Piraeus, he was converted into a midfielder / defender.
In 1995, Tsalouchidis transferred to PAOK and the following year back to Veria FC where he ended his career in 1997.
During his playing career, Tsalouchidis was capped 76 times by the National Football Team of Greece, scoring 16 goals. He was a member of the squad that participated in World Cup 1994, where he is best remembered as the Greek defender who was assigned to guard Diego Maradona.
After his retirement he served as manager at Veria but that was just a short spell as he was sacked after a few months.
