Giorgos Foundas was a Greek stage, screen and television actor.

Foundas was born in 1924 in the village of Mavrolithari, in the Parnassida district of central Phocis prefecture. He studied Acting in the Drama School of the Conservatory of Athens.

His first cinematic role was in the 1944 film "Heirokrotimata" (Applause). In 1966 and again in 1967, he was awarded at the Film Festival of Thessaloniki for his roles in "With a glow in their eyes" and "Asphalt fever" respectively.

He made his debut on Greek TV in "Christ re-crucified" in 1975.

Foundas was widely acknowledged for his roles in the international hit "Alexis Zorbas" (1964), the milestone Greek-language movie "Stella" (1955) and Jules Dassin's "Never on Sunday" (1960), the latter two co-starring with Melina Mercouri.
