Born in 1940, Christos Zanteroglou was considered a top centre-back in his days at Niki Volos (capped twice) when he transferred to Olympiakos in 1965. In Piraeus, he replaced the legendary - though inconsistent - Mimis Stefanakos. At Olympiakos, Zanteroglou won a further 11 caps for the Greek National Football Team and two championships for his club.
After he left Olympiakos, Zanteroglou played for Aegaleo (1970 - 1973) and was part of their great 1971 team. He ended his career with Atromitos Athens in 1975.
