Giorgos Petridis was a tough football forward for AEK in the 1960s, playing either inside-right or outside-left as the need arose.

Petridis was born on February 10, 1938. He started his career at Pera Club Istanbul and played for AEK between 1957 and 1965. He finished his career at Vyzas Megara where he had joined teammate Kostas Nestoridis after the 1965 season.

Petridis was capped once by the Greek National Football Team.

After his playing days were over, Petridis coached Panarkadikos, Eordaikos, Levadiakos and Niki Sitia. He was assistant coach, under Toza Veselinovic, at AEK in 1988 and coach at the football academy of AEK.

He died in a traffic accident on February 2, 2017, just hours after the death of his one-time teammate Miltos Papapostolou.
