The Popular Orthodox Rally (LA.O.S. - ΛΑ.Ο.Σ) (Greek: Λαϊκός Ορθόδοξος Συναγερμός) is a Greek populist political party, founded and led by journalist Georgios Karatzaferis, a well-known member of parliament who was expelled from the New Democracy party. "Popular Orthodox Rally" argues that after the end of the Cold War the demarcation of the political world in the Right Wing and the Left Wing is not relevant anymore. Nowadays, according to the ideas of the party, everyone in every aspect of his or her everyday life is either for or against Globalization and its negative elements. The party failed to reach the 3% threshold of the popular vote in March 7 elections but three months later gained 4.1% of the vote and one seat in the 2004 European Parliamentary Elections.
In the September 16, 2007 elections, LA.O.S. polled 3.8% of the vote and won 10 seats in the Hellenic Parliament, becoming the first far-right party of Greece to win representation in Parliament since 1977.
