- 1848: Georgios Kountouriotis forms a government.
- 1919: Greek forces begin the evacuation of Odessa during the Ukraine Expedition.
- 1932: The National Theater opened. Its first production was "Agamemnon" by Aeschylus.
- 1960: The remains of poet Andreas Kalvos arrive in Greece from England for re-burial.
- 1975: Aristotle Onassis is buried in Skorpios island. During the funeral, Christina Onassis falls out with Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis over the inheritance.
- 1983: "Vradyni" publisher, Tzortzis Athanasiadis is murdered in his office by left-wing radicals.
