Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis was a Greek revolutionary who fought in the War of Independence (1821-1829).
Mavromichalis was born in Mani, the son of Pierros Mavromichalis. When the Greek War of Independence broke out, he organised a band of Maniotes into a fighting force.
Mavromichalis fought at Kalamata, Methoni, Koroni and was present at the Siege of Tripolis as chief in command of the Valtetsi camp. He successfully defended the camp, twice, in the Battle of Valtetsi.
Mavromichalis was killed at Fanari, Preveza on July 4, 1822 and was buried in Mesolonghi. He was the father of Petros Mavromichalis and grandfather of Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis, the politician and Prime Minister.
