- 1912: The Greek Navy led by Rear Admiral Pavlos Kountouriotis on board the flagship Averoff, forces the Ottoman navy to retreat to the Dardanelles
- 1922: War rallies are held in many Cypriot cities with the union between Greece and Cyprus being the main demand.
- 1944: Members and supporters of the leftist EAM/ELAS demonstrate in Constitution Square, Athens. Police fire on the demonstrators killing 28 of them.
- 1963: Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou announces the government's plan to distribute free books to all elementary and highschool students.
