Pasas or Pasha, (Greek: Πασας), (Turkish: Paşa). Honorary title awarded to high ranking officers of the Ottoman Empire. In most cases, a pasha was also the Commander-in-Chief of a province or territory. For example: All the Pasas of Crete were also "Commanders-in-Chief" of all Crete.
