Polis Foulidis nearly caused a riot on April 17, 1967, by refusing to leave the pitch, after being red-carded by the referee for hitting Kostas Polychroniou of Olympiakos. His refusal signalled a free-for-all between players of Pierikos and Olympiakos with the fans getting in on the act.
