Phaedon Gizikis (Greek: Φαίδων Γκιζίκης). Army officer and president of Greece (1973-1974)

Born in 1917, Phaedon Gizikis was a career Greek army officer. In 1967 he supported the Georgios Papadopoulos' coup d'etat and received a number of senior military posts during the dictatorship that followed . He was given the figurehead title of President of the Republic in November 1973, after Papadopoulos was ousted by Dimitrios Ioannides as head of the regime in an internal power struggle.

After the fall of the dictatorship in 1974, he retained his post for four months until a new constitution could be enacted; he was then replaced by Michail Stasinopoulos.

After his fall from power he went into seclusion; he died impoverished and blind in 1999.
