June

• June 1: Panathinaikos thrash Olympiakos 8-2 in their greatest triumph ever over their "eternal enemies". Before the match Olympiakos fans carried a coffin into the stadium, in which they would bury their opponents. In the riots that followed, the coffin broke to pieces.

December

• December 7: The first international victory for the Greek National Football Team. They prevail 6-1 over Bulgaria in a game for the Balkan Cup held in Leoforos Alexandras. Tsolinas scores four (4', 50', 51', 60') goals and Messaris two (10', 15'). Both were playing for Panathinaikos FC
