• 1955: Michalis Karaolis, along with two EOKA companions execute Special Branch police constable Herodotus Poullis in Ledra Street, Lefkosia. For this act, Karaolis would later become the first of nine Greek Cypriots hanged by the British during the EOKA campaign.
