The town of Astypalaia - known locally as Chora - is the major town, capital and seaport of the island of Astypalaia in the Dodecanese island complex of Greece.

The town is built on a hill with a Venetian castle on its crown. The castle is known as Guerini fortress and, within its confines are two churches: Agios Georgios and Evangelismos. On the outside, are found more churches, windmills and the houses of the settlement, whitewashes in the typical Greek island fashion.
