John VI was Patriarch of Constantinople from 712 till 715.

John was a supporter of Monothelitism and, as such, was chosen by emperor Philippicus to replace Patriarch Cyrus - an Orthodox.

John's first act was to call a synod in Constantinople to declare null and void the decisions of the Sixth Ecumenical Council.
