Anthony I of Constantinople

Anthony I Kassimates (also called Anthony the tanner, born Constantine Kassymatas) was Patriarch of Constantinople from 821 till 832.

Anthony was an iconomach who served as bishop of Syleum when he was elected Patriarch of Constantinople. He continued his iconomach policies as patriarch and wrote a thessaurus of theology from the iconomach point of view.
