Aegaleo BC
Aegaleo AO Athens (Greek: ΑΙΓΑΛΕΩ AO) aka KAE Aigaleo BC is a Greek professional basketball team that is located in Aegaleo, Greece, which is a suburb of Athens. Aegaleo currently plays in the first Greek League of professional basketball the A1 Division. The team's parent athletic club was founded in the year 1931 and the basketball division of the athletic organization was founded in the year 1956.
History
After the basketball department was founded in 1956, it only took the team 6 years to make it into the A1 Division, which is the highest professional basketball league in Greece. Although the club is located in Athens it does not have the financial resources to compete in the same manner as the other Athens-Piraeus teams like Panathinaikos, Olympiakos, AEK, Panionios and Maroussi. From 1999 to 2006 the team was coached by Dimitrios Karvelas.
