- January 11: Allied airplanes bombard the harbour of Piraeus.

- April 5: 270 Greeks are executed in the village of Kleisoura (Kastoria), by the German occupation forces, in retaliation for the killing of two German soldiers in the area.
June
- June 2: Bulgarian occupation troops slay 233 Greeks in the village of Doxato, Drama prefecture. Among the dead is the village priest, Papa-Sotiris Zisis and 12 women and children who sought refuge in his home.
