Historic club based in the southwestern Athens suburb of Tavros. They arose to Athens' A' Division in 1953, in the days of local championships. Their ability to upset bigger clubs soon won them their nickname: Giant Killers (Φονεύς των γιγάντων).
The emblem of the team is the god of war resting, always on guard to fight if necessary. The colors of the team are yellow and black, reminiscent of Byzantium, where Thessaloniki has always been the second most important city of the Empire.

Colours: Yellow and black.

In the days of the National championship (1959 - present), they have managed to compete in the A' Division between 1961 - 1963 and 1970 - 1974. In 2003 they were demoted from the B' Division to D' Division due to financial difficulties.
Distinctions came early as Aris won the Salonica championship in 1928 and proceeded to defeat the champions of Athens (Atromitos) and the champions of Piraeus (Ethnikos) to win the first ever Greek football championship.

Since then Aris have had their ups and downs, were relegated (pending appeal) in 2005 to the B' Division for only the second time in their history.
