Nea Alikarnassos (Greek Νέα Αλικαρνασσός) is a city in the municipality of Nea Alikarnassos, Heraklio prefecture, Crete, Greece.
Nea Alikarnassos is situated just outside the city of Heraklio on the north coast of Crete but, in stark contrast to Heraklio, is full of palm trees giving a pleasant impression on the visitor or passerby. The population of the city, according to the 2001 census was 11,630 inhabitants.
Nea Alikarnassos was settled, after the Asia Minor Disaster and the exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey, by refugees from Halicarnassus, Asia Minor (Turkish: Bodrum). It boasts of a football club Irodotos.
